Still inspired by last week’s energizing panel at the AccountAbility Symposium: “How does the sustainability function build resilience—and how must it evolve?”
I had the pleasure of moderating a timely and thought-provoking conversation with three leaders who are actively reshaping corporate sustainability:
– Ann Tracy, Chief Sustainability Officer, Colgate-Palmolive
– Stewart Lindsay, Chief Sustainability Officer, The Campbell’s Company
– Charlotte Peyraud, Director and Co-Head, Sustainability Advisory Services, Houlihan Lokey
It was a wide-ranging discussion, but it is clear that sustainability strategy must align with material risks, core business drivers, and evolving regulatory realities. The future of the sustainability function will depend on its ability to stay agile, prove value, stay the course for what is most relevant to the business, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
Here are my favorite scribblings from my moderator notes:
– Move from morality to materiality.
– Anecdotal to institutional.
Two phrases to live by in these interesting times.
Thanks to AccountAbility, Sunil Misser, Frederik Otto, Katie Serwer, Carolyn Kissane, Erica Miller and all who joined us for the discussion. The road ahead is complex, but also full of opportunity for real impact.
